Who are the host, guest of honor, and players?
Every event has three kinds of people. The host runs the event: they add questions, share the invite link, share the live scoreboard link, resolve outcomes, and can turn on a buy-in pot or per-question cash pledges. They can name co-hosts who can do the same — resolve questions, share links, collect pledges, and mark players paid up. The guest of honor is who the event is for — on cash events, a share of the pot can go to them when the group settles up. Players join via the invite link, lock in predictions before deadlines, and compete on the scorecard.
Who can see an event?
Events are private to your group. There are no public listings, search, or browse — only people you invite can participate. The host or a co-host shares a per-event invite link. Anyone who opens that link and joins can see the questions, make picks, and view the scorecard. A host or co-host can also share a live scoreboard link so people in the room can watch standings without joining; that link shows names and scores, not unpaid picks. Everyone else stays out.
Does money have to be involved?
No. Points only is the default: picks, points, and bragging rights, with no money at all. Optional cash is an honor-system ledger — a buy-in pot (highest score wins) or per-question pledges. Hunch keeps the ledger, and the host collects and distributes everything off-platform. Hunch never touches the money. Cash mode is not available in every state.
Is Hunch a baby pool app?
Yes. You can run a private baby pool — due date, birth weight, time of birth, and firsts that follow. The same product also covers weddings, moves, graduations, new pets, and other milestones. Events stay invite-only.
Can you use Hunch for a wedding?
Yes. Hunch can cover rain, cake, unplanned toasts, and the rest of the day. It is a private game for the people closest to the couple, not a QR-code kit for the whole guest list, and it can keep going after the weekend.
Is Hunch gambling?
