How it works
A private game, from first question to scorecard
Hunch is a friends-and-family prediction game. The host sets the questions, invited players lock their picks, and the scorecard updates as real life answers them. Events are never listed or searchable.
- 1
Create the event
The host signs up, names the event, and chooses points-only, a buy-in pot, or per-question cash house rules. Drafting is free.
- 2
Add questions
The host curates yes/no, multiple choice, date, time, and number questions — with optional close-enough scoring or a squares pool.
- 3
Activate and invite
A one-time $19.99 activation fee unlocks the invite link. The host shares it with friends, family, or close colleagues. Events are not listed or searchable.
- 4
Lock picks
Players join and submit predictions before each question's deadline. Playing is free.
- 5
Resolve and share the scorecard
As outcomes happen, the host or a co-host marks the correct answers. The scorecard updates, and they can share a live scoreboard link for a TV or browser in the room.
What you can ask
Yes/no and multiple choice are exact. Date, time, and number questions can use a host-set range so close guesses still score.
Yes / No
Will they arrive on the due date? Will it rain during the ceremony?
Multiple choice
A short list of options — boy, girl, or surprise; slow dance or total surprise.
Date
When will the baby arrive, or when do they actually move in? Hosts can award partial credit for close guesses.
Time
What time will they be born, or when is the cake cut? Close-enough scoring is optional.
Number
Birth weight, guest count, packing boxes. Optional units and close-enough ranges.
Squares pool
Turn a date, time, or number into a grid. Players claim cells; whoever holds the winning square takes the points — and the pot, if you run one.
Money, only if you want it
Points-only is the default. Optional cash — a buy-in pot or per-question house rules — leaves settlement to the host. The only payment Hunch processes is the $19.99 host activation fee. See pricing.
